Sicherheit: Für gesunde Menschen meist gut verträglich (möglich: leichte Verdauungsbeschwerden). In Risikogruppen — Immunschwäche, Intensiv-/schwer Kranke, zentralvenöser Katheter, Frühgeborene — nur nach ärztlicher Rücksprache; selten wurden Bakteriämien/Infektionen berichtet. Es handelt sich um lebende E. coli; Anwendung gemäß Fachinformation.

About this strain
A non-pathogenic, LIVE E. coli strain (O6:K5:H1), isolated in 1917 by Alfred Nissle; without typical virulence/enterotoxin factors. Studied for remission maintenance in ulcerative colitis.
Safety: Usually well tolerated in healthy people (mild digestive symptoms possible). In at-risk groups — immune deficiency, critically/severely ill, central venous catheter, premature infants — only after medical advice; rare bacteraemia/infections have been reported. These are live E. coli; use according to the product information.
